Nowadays, “shared services” are gaining momentum, but what kind of sparks can vending machines combine with shared services to create? According to reports, the large beverage company DyDo DRINCO is committed to using vending machines to provide free umbrella lending services. As early as 2015, DyDo launched its service in Osaka City under the name of 'sharing umbrella' based on local contributions. From May to June this year, it was launched in the four prefectures of Nagano, Fukuoka, Yamanashi, and Niigata. It is estimated that around 500 vending machines will be used to lend out umbrellas in a total of 16 prefectures by the end of the year. DyDo installs 7 umbrellas on the side of the vending machine, and its service scope includes residential areas and office commercial districts. Among them, more than half use the 'lost property umbrellas' of railway operators for recycling. In addition to large-scale private railways, JR's supplies have also been accepted starting this year. Although there is no anti-theft device installed, the umbrella handle has a DyDo LOGO sticker to urge the user to return it. It is understood that the return rate in the Kansai region in 2016 was about 70%. More than half of the special umbrella stands installed in vending machines are recycled from lost umbrellas in stations or trams. The number of beverage vending machines installed throughout Japan is gradually decreasing. DyDo operates about 280,000 vending machines across the country. Since about 80% of the domestic beverage business's revenue is based on vending machine revenue, it continues to struggle. Although people who do not buy the goods in the vending machine can also borrow the umbrella, the company expects to use this service to enhance the brand image, and people who don't forget to borrow the umbrella can patronize the vending machine. The above information is shared by the beverage vending machine. Please mark the reprint
